Well, here we go! I have decided to start a new adventure and commitment and we are months away from the traditional time of New Year’s resolutions… I woke up this past week and thought, “Hmm… I work full time, have three children, (the youngest who is just 7 months old), and I think I should add something else to my already overflowing plate. How about a blog?” Which bring us to this point in time.
I have been a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments, (TVI), for just about 5 years and have loved every second of it. Before going back to school to get certified as a TVI, I was a braille transcriptionist for a young girl who is a braille reader. I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up until I met this young lady and her family and began my journey to a new professional career, which brings me to current day and this post.
I wanted to have a place where I could share my experiences, knowledge and ideas to whoever is interested. I am challenged daily in my position and learn more than one new thing a day for sure. I hope that in reading my future posts, I will help provide some guidance and perhaps meet some others who work with students, have personal connections to what I am posting about or even have a visual impairment themselves.
I look forward to this new chapter and hope to inspire others to take a leap and try something new!
Congratulations Beth! Can’t wait to read more!!
